"This project looks to explore the relationship of nature, landscape and the built environment. A hillside site located on Hollywood Blvd., three structures dialogue with, and have different relationships' to, landscaping and natural materials. The project is an expansion and remodel of an existing 2,152 sq. ft. two story home. The 1,076 sq. ft. expansion features a new lower level, 3 car garage, recreation building, glass sided infinity edge pool and spa, complete home automation, large walls of glass towards downtown Los Angeles, two elevators-one a "Jetson-style" all glass with a floating platform-leading to a roof top terrace and garden. The middle two story recreation room has a curtain wall of glass partial screened with a grove of Eucalyptus (native to the client's home country-Australia). Finally the main house is layered with natural Limestone, wood and green roof to complete the notion of transcending with nature." Dean Larkin - Dean Larkin Design
