hot spot: work ethics.

Some people do their best work in really structured, orderly settings: sitting at a desk, classical music playing quietly, minimal distractions from the outside world. I am not one of those people. Even though I’ve been eyeing this desk for longer than I care to admit, you’re more likely to find me curled up on the couch, listening to Ray LaMontagne with the television on in the background when I’m working from home; and I want my office to reflect that. When I saw the sitting room in this Scottsdale home by Vallone Design, it was a revelation: “Yes! This!” Chairs from Hickory Chair provide the perfect niche for reading, while the patterned Lee Jofa drapes bring in a bit of a feminine touch without getting too girly. Mostly, though, I’m crazy about the little library-inspired ladder on the entertainment center.
Where do you do your best work?
