We like getting flowers just as much as the next girl; in fact, we’ve been known to do our fair share of scowling if our desktops are bloom-free on birthdays and anniversaries. As thrilling as it is to get the delivery, though, it’s just as painful to watch the eventual withering. A week just isn’t enough time to spend with pretty orchid stems, which is why we’re convinced Jeremy Cole must’ve read our minds when he created his Flora lighting collection. In his Orchid Cymbidium, eight, delicate bone-china blossoms are suspended indefinitely in a sleek, illuminated cylinder that has captivated an audience far beyond the Luxe offices. Here, Denver designer Jeff Elliott weighs in.
