You’ve heard it time and time again: It’s what’s on the inside that counts. And while that is true, about 90 percent of the time, this Rancho Santa Fe home makes a good case for reevaluating all those kindergarten life lessons. Designed by husband-and-wife team Taal Safdie and Ricardo Rabines, of San Diego-based Safdie Rabines Architects, the nearly 11,000-square-foot residence is breathtaking from the outside, with its warm cedar accents and its gentle stepping down to follow the contours of the hill on which it was built. And while, we assure you, it’s just as beautiful on the inside, we’ll let your imaginations run a little wild: How would you decorate it? Are you thinking Mies van der Rohe or Eames, or something completely different? Leave your thoughts in the comments section.
