Ground Control
March 04, 2013
I recently relocated back home to Chicago and am in desperate need of a dining room rug…that and perhaps a vacation as well. So, to kill two birds with one stone, I’ve decided to invest in one of designer Malene B’s worldly floor coverings. As one of our fantastic Style Maker’s in the New York spring issue, Malene’s stunning designs are inspired by her global travels including stints to Thailand, India, St. Vincent and Tahiti among other locales. Her pieces—with their graphic motifs and colorful hues—work well in my effervescent world. I love the Bangkok carpet inspired by the floating markets in Thailand and the St. Vincent rug motivated by the waters of Malene’s mother’s home country. The vibrant turquoise colors and the rich silk texture make this one luxurious piece. Now, the only problem is, how do I choose just one?
Have a great week!
